Description

The Round Ham Sewing Pattern is the perfect solution for pressing large curved areas. Its circular shape is ideal for bust seams, rounded hips, and other contoured sections of a garment. It is especially helpful for shaping necklines on sweatshirts, hoodies, and similar knitwear, ensuring a smooth and professional curve.

We use Double-Layer Technology to ensure the tool is incredibly strong. This design handles high pressure and steam from your iron with ease. Even as a beginner, you can quickly sew this essential piece of tailoring equipment to upgrade your sewing results.

Round Ham Details & Key Features

  • Double-Layer Design: Features an outer fabric and a strong lining for a durable, long-lasting shell.
  • Deciduous Hardwood Filling: The tool is packed tightly with fine sawdust from deciduous trees to absorb moisture and stay firm.
  • Perfect for Necklines & Curves: The 27 cm diameter is specifically designed for shaping sweatshirt necklines, bust seams, and large rounded details.
  • Firm Surface: The natural hardwood filling ensures the ham holds its shape perfectly and never leaves marks on your garments.

Materials & Sizing

You can use new fabric or make this an eco-friendly project using scraps:

  • Outer Fabric: 30 cm (approx. 12″) of heat-resistant cotton or linen. This is enough to cut two 29 × 29 cm pieces. Fabric scraps are a great choice.
  • Lining Fabric: 30 cm (approx. 12″) of firm, breathable cotton like calico. You will need two 29 × 29 cm pieces cut along the grainline.
  • Thread: Strong sewing thread in a color that matches your fabric.
  • Filling: Fine sawdust from deciduous (hardwood) trees.

Tip: Clean sawdust for rodents from pet stores works perfectly.

Finished Measurements:

  • Round Ham: 27 cm (Diameter), Thickness 8 cm.

Tools & Supplies:

  • Sewing machine and hand sewing needle.
  • Steam iron or steam generator to help shape the tool.
  • Fabric marker, tailor’s pins, and fabric scissors.
  • Funnel for stuffing: A regular funnel or a DIY version made from a plastic bottle neck.
