Description

Bring the night sky to life! This Star Amigurumi Pattern is your guide to creating a perfectly symmetrical, iconic softie. For example, we designed it as a standalone ornamental element; its sharp 5-point structure and charming sleepy face make it an ideal gift or unique decorative piece. Moreover, the pattern utilizes advanced techniques to ensure perfect structural quality, thus making the process both enjoyable and rewarding. Therefore, this is the ideal challenge for intermediate crafters seeking a rewarding, functional amigurumi project.

The instructions are written using US terminology.

Amigurumi Pattern Details & Key Features

This Star pattern utilizes seamless construction. The pattern incorporates advanced techniques essential for professional results:

  • Symmetrical Shaping: Detailed instructions for assembling two flat pieces and creating the five voluminous, symmetrical points.
  • Gap Prevention: Advanced shaping techniques are used to ensure perfect, seamless closures at the star points, eliminating the common issue of visible holes often found in amigurumi joints.
  • Embroidery: Facial features are finished using detailed Outline Stitch techniques.

Yarn & Materials

  • Yarn: Alize Diva (100% Microfiber Acrylic, 100g/350m approx. 382 yds) in Yellow/Gold.

Total Project Weight: The finished Star weighs approximately 8 grams (0.3 oz).

Total Yarn Required: Less than 5 grams of yarn is needed. (This pattern is perfect for using up yarn scraps!)

Alternative Yarn: You can substitute Alize Diva with any Fingering Weight or Sport Weight (Category 1 or 2) yarn that achieves a tight gauge with the suggested hook.

  • Stuffing: Fiberfill (Holofiber).

Tools for this Intermediate Amigurumi Star

  • Crochet Hook: 1.75 mm hook (equivalent to US B/1).

Hook Note: For Amigurumi, it is essential to achieve a very tight, gap-free fabric. If you substitute the yarn, choose a hook that is one or two sizes smaller than the hook size recommended on the yarn label to maintain the necessary tension.

  • Embroidery Thread: Thin sewing or embroidery thread in Black (for the Star’s eyes).
  • Other Notions: Tapestry needle, embroidery needle, scissors, and a stitch marker.

Sizing & Gauge

  • Finished Measurements: Star Diameter: Approximately 6 cm (2.4 inches) at the widest point.
  • Gauge: 36 sc and 36 rounds = 4 inches (10 cm) in single crochet.

MOST IMPORTANT:

You must crochet very tightly so that the Fiberfill (stuffing) does not show through the stitches. If your fabric is loose, use a smaller hook size.
