Materials & Sizing

You can use small fabric scraps or new material:

  • Outer Fabric: 40 cm (16″) of natural cotton or linen. It must be heat-resistant and colorfast.
  • Lining Fabric: 40 cm (16″) of light natural cotton (like calico or white cotton).
  • Thread: Strong sewing thread in a matching color.
  • Filling: Fine sawdust from deciduous (hardwood) trees.

Tip: Clean sawdust sold in pet stores for rodents is a perfect option.

Finished Measurements:

  • Length: 31 cm.
  • Diameter (Thickness): 7 cm.

Tools & Supplies:

  • Sewing machine and hand sewing needle.
  • Steam iron or steam generator.
  • Fabric marker, tailor’s pins, and fabric scissors.
  • Funnel: A regular funnel or a DIY version made from a plastic bottle neck to pour the sawdust.
